College Mall & Bell Trace Team Up to Keep Bloomington Residents Healthy

College Mall will host a kick-off event to promote the improved mall walker program

College Mall, owned and managed by Simon, a leader in retail real estate, has teamed up with Bell Trace to enhance College Mall’s mall walker program. The public is invited to participate in a kick-off event on Monday, October 3 from 8 to 10 a.m.

“At Bell Trace, our mission is to improve the health and quality of life of Bloomington residents of all ages,” said Joy Harter, Executive Director at Bell Trace. “The mall walker program at College Mall encourages seniors to stay active, which we know is a crucial part of remaining healthy. We are thrilled to be a part of this initiative.”

During the event, guests can meet with representatives from Bell Trace, and enjoy a light breakfast with the famous homemade zucchini bread baked right at Bell Trace. In addition, guests may also learn more about the enhanced mall walker program, and register as a participant. As part of Bell Trace’s generous sponsorship, guests will now be able to track their mileage with floor tiles indicating the distance walked, and will receive prizes for reporting their mileage. Prizes include water bottles (50 miles), a fleece jacket (750 miles), a FitBit (2250 miles) and more.

“College Mall has long been a gathering place for the community, and many in our mall walker program join us for both exercise and friendship,” said Candace Kilburn, director of marketing and business development. “With the support of Bell Trace, we will be able to connect in a more meaningful way with even more members of our community.”
